Actress SCARLETT JOHANSSON and her music producer have described her singing style as "Tinkerbell on cough syrup".
The starlet, who is best known for her appearances in films such THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL and LOST IN TRANSLATION, is releasing her album of TOM WAITS covers this month.
ANYWHERE I LAY MY HEAD will feature mostly TOM WAITS tracks and an original song entitled SONG FOR JO.
Speaking about her first foray into writing, Scarlett said: "It was a memory of someone that's very close to me: a vague and blissful memory of my wanton youth or whatever. It's a song about friendship, I think."
The album will also feature a guest appearance by DAVID BOWIE who will provide backing vocals on two tracks.
However, the actress-turned-songstress does not appear fazed by her first musical release, telling People magazine that she has "nothing to prove".
She adds that she is not worried about whether her movie fans will enjoy it, although she hopes people will.
Meanwhile, in related news, Scarlett recently announced her engagement to actor RYAN REYNOLDS.
PAUL MCCARTNEY's fashion designer daughter STELLA MCCARTNEY has expressed an interest in designing the wedding dress and recently joked that she would like to see Scarlett walk down the aisle in latex.

Swedish singer ROBYN has ruled out a possible duet with MADONNA - because she's more of a "celebrity" than a musician.
Robyn - real name Robin Carlsson - insists she wouldn't work with the Material Girl until she concentrates on her career rather than her status in the media spotlight.
The star, who borrowed the title of her newest track from Madonna's 1987 number one hit Who's That Girl, says, " I don't expect to work with her!
"Anyway, I don't collaborate with celebs, I work with musicians."
MOTLEY CRUE guitarist MICK MARS has asked a judge to suspend payments to an ex-girlfriend he has accused of breaking a palimony agreement.
Mars - real name Robert Alan Deal - filed suit against former lover Robbie Mantooth in 2006, alleging she breached the terms of a palimony agreement between the former couple who were together for 14 years between 1990 and 2004.
Mantooth originally sued Deal claiming she quit her job as a documentary filmmaker to live with him in Malibu, California, because he had offered to take care of her for life. The former couple eventually reached a palimony agreement which gave her a down payment and agreed to pay an additional $5,000 (GBP2,500) a month on a balance of $300,000 (GBP150,000), according to court papers. Mantooth was required to promise never to disclose any financial information about him in return.
But now Deal has hit his ex-girlfriend with a lawsuit claiming she has not honoured the terms of the agreement and had filed papers at Los Angeles Superior Court claiming punitive damages and attorney's fees.
The trial date is provisionally set for 15 September (08) and Deal has now asked a judge to suspend payments to Mantooth until after the trial is completed.
Deal will find out whether his request will be granted in a hearing set for 6 June (08).
